The operational plan aims to transform the existing research into an organized framework of rational management of water use, with the ultimate goal of reducing production costs, increasing gross profit and environmental sustainability.
The goal will be achieved by optimally allocating the limited resources (financial and territorial) of producers individually. It concerns all the producers of the study area and can be easily implemented through the application that will be developed.
The data-entry by the producers by observing the rules of cross-compliance, will provide each producer with the maximum amount of EU subsidies. which are attributed to him based on his capabilities. Also, confusion will be avoided during the new application of rules as with the creation of pilot fields, producers will now know potential risks in order to avoid them. The financial benefits are summarized as follows:
• Optimizing gross profit and creating conditions for introducing new crops (up to 15% increase)
• Direct answer to the producer’s difficult question “what to grow?”
• Reusability of the model with different level of inputs to optimize the profit of producers with alternative crops
• Reduction of production and labor costs with the most rational use of water (reduction of production costs up to 20%)
