Objectives and goals

Each producer will be able to define an individual production plan based on specific parameters and constraints

The project aims to support changes in land use planning through the implementation of a Decision Support Model (DSM), contributing to the integration and easier adoption of the new cross-compliance requirements. The model is designed to promote optimal water resource management while enhancing the efficiency and profitability of agricultural holdings.

Each producer will be able to develop a customized production plan based on specific parameters and constraints, with the primary objectives being the rational use of water resources and alignment with their financial capacity, ultimately leading to the most suitable production strategy for each farm.

The expected benefits are twofold. In addition to improving economic performance and increasing farm competitiveness through the reduction of input costs, the system will support the gradual adaptation of producers to the new CAP 2021–2027 directives.

The challenge addressed by the project concerns the increasing complexity of cross-compliance requirements, as regulations are expected to become stricter during the 2021–2027 programming period, while the budget of the new CAP is projected to decrease by 3–5%. Producers must therefore be prepared to meet additional obligations under the revised framework.

The operational plan will begin with pilot fields involving five different producer groups. The expected outcome is the gradual integration of the new directives, contributing both to the reduction of production costs and to the effective adoption of the new cross-compliance requirements.
